Families must re-apply for Tuition Assistance each school year. La Reina makes Tuition Assistance grants on the basis of need as evaluated by Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS). Assistance is not granted for merit, and not all requests can be honored. The Tuition Aid Committee reviews all applications received from TADS. All of the proceedings are strictly confidential.
Families who receive Tuition Assistance are asked to provide in-school service and to participate in school fundraisers. Failure to complete these duties may result in the loss of Tuition Assistance. More information about the Tuition Assistance application process is available from the La Reina Business Office or by contacting the TADS Parent Helpline at 1(800) 884-8237 or support@tads.com
Once an application for admission to La Reina High School is completed, a family may apply for Tuition Assistance, if needed. Beginning November 21, 2011, applications for Tuition Assistance may be submitted online to TADS at www.tads.com. A processing fee of $34 is payable to TADS at the time of submission.
Funds for Tuition Assistance are limited. Priority consideration will be given to those families who submit their applications for Tuition Assistance by February 3, 2012.
*Interested families should make every effort to meet the February 3, 2012 priority filing deadline. Applications received after this date will be considered based on any remaining funds available.
Families must fully complete a two step process in order to receive Tuition Assistance.
• Step 1 is to complete the online application at www.tads.com and submit required documentation as specified on the application. Priority consideration is given to those who apply by February 3, 2012. Applications received after this date will be considered based on the remaining funds available.
• Step 2 requires submitting final documents for review and verification (such as completed 2010 tax return, K-1’s etc.). Required follow-up documentation must be submitted to TADS no later than May 31, 2012. All Tuition Assistance awards remain contingent upon receipt of these final tax documents. Discrepancies will be evaluated and awards may be adjusted if deemed appropriate by the Tuition Aid Committee.
Any information submitted in connection with Tuition Assistance applications is subject to audit and verification. Applicants may be asked to provide documented evidence to support information on the application. The school may require the completion of IRS Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return (included in the information packet) to verify tax returns.
Notification of tuition assistance awards will be made beginning March 7, to those families meeting the Step 1 application priority filing deadline of February 3, 2012. The Tuition Assistance awards remain preliminary until TADS is in receipt of the final tax documents outlined in Step 2. Later applicants will be notified approximately three weeks after completion of the on-line Tuition Assistance application.
Applications for 2011-2012 Tuition Assistance may still be considered provided funds are available. To request assistance for the current year, we request that a letter be submitted to the Tuition Assistance Committee describing the specific circumstances of your need. An on-line application will be required to receive assistance. Applications may be completed at www.TADS.com. For more specific information contact La Reina’s CFO at (805) 495-6494 ext 405.
