Families must re-apply for Tuition Assistance each school year. La Reina makes Tuition Assistance grants on the basis of need as evaluated by Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS). Assistance is not granted for merit, and not all requests can be honored. The Tuition Aid Committee reviews all applications received from TADS. All of the proceedings are strictly confidential. We urge you to apply for tuition assistance as early as possible and before the priority filing deadline as funds are limited.
More information about the Tuition Assistance application process is available from the La Reina Business Office or by contacting the TADS Parent Helpline at 1(800) 884-8237 or support@tads.com
Beginning November 25, 2012 families applying to La Reina High School, with financial need may also apply for tuition assistance by submitting an application online to TADS at www.tads.com. A processing fee of $35 is payable to TADS at the time of submission. Returning families will need to reapply for tuition assistance each school year.
Funds for Tuition Assistance are limited. Priority consideration will be given to those families who submit their applications for Tuition Assistance by February 5, 2013.
*Interested families should make every effort to meet the February 5, 2013 priority filing deadline. Applications received after this date will be considered based on any remaining funds available.
All families must complete a two step process in order to receive Tuition Assistance:
• Step #1 is to complete the online application at www.tads.com and submit required documentation as specified on the application. Priority consideration is given to those who apply by February 5, 2013. Applications received after this date will be considered based on the remaining funds available.
• Step #2 requires submitting any final documents for review and verification (including completed 2012 tax return, K-1’s etc.). Required follow-up documentation must be submitted to TADS no later than May 31, 2013. Tuition assistance awards will be considered preliminary and remain as such until the school receives notification from TADS that final documents, including 2012 tax returns, have been submitted. Discrepancies will be evaluated and awards may be adjusted if deemed appropriate by the Tuition Aid Committee.
Family notification of tuition assistance amounts will be mailed after March 1, 2013 provided the student has been accepted into La Reina High School and the family has successfully met the Step #1 priority filing deadline of February 5, 2013. Families missing the February 5, 2013 priority filing deadline will be notified of any tuition assistance award approximately three weeks after completion of the on-line Tuition Assistance application.
*Any information submitted in connection with Tuition Assistance applications is subject to audit and verification. Applicants may be asked to provide documented evidence to support information on the application. The school may require the completion of IRS Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return to verify tax returns.
Applications for 2012-2013 Tuition Assistance may still be considered provided funds are still available. To request assistance for the current year, we request that a letter be submitted to the Tuition Assistance Committee describing the specific circumstances of your need. An on-line application will be required to receive assistance. Applications may be completed at www.TADS.com. For more specific information contact La Reina’s CFO at (805) 495-6494 ext 405.
