LRHS Equestrian Team - League Champions for 11 consecutive seasons 1995-2005

Established in 1985, the La Reina Equestrian Team offers team opportunities in an otherwise individual sport. Open to La Reina students in grades 7 - 12, the team competes year round in the Interscholastic Equestrian League. The IEL League offers four divisions (Novice, Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity) for Hunter/Jumpers and Dressage. The La Reina Equestrian Team offers the unique ability for riders to get school credit for their extensive hours of lessons and showing.

Students wishing to join the team need:

• To be involved in a training program with an authorized trainer
• Access to a horse for the competitions
• Their own tack/equipment for the competitions
• Ability to transport or arrange transportation to the competitions
• Meet the attendance and paperwork requirements outlined at the first meeting
   

Creating a dynasty of sorts, the LRHS Equestrian team has dominated the IEL, winning the Overall League Championship for eleven consecutive years 1995-2005, and barely coming in second in the 2006 season. In addition to their champion abilities, La Reina riders are known for their high standards, polite attitudes and ethical competitive natures in the La Reina spirit. Nothing but the highest ideals are accepted.

Of course, our team also knows how to have fun. We have a season Kickoff party in the end of August, an annual Christmas party, and a Year End party. Additionally, at each of the shows, we congregate in the "Team Cabana" (courtesy the LRHS Booster Club). In our Cabana, you'll find team families, friends, trainers, and lots of delicious food for nourishment throughout the day.
