PHILOSOPHY OF THE FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT

The dance, drama, music, and visual art programs of La Reina High School's Fine Arts Department provide balance in the school's curriculum that is important for the development of the integrated personality. The department provides opportunities for each student to "discover, develop and share the unique gifts God has given her".

The arts program seeks to "nurture (the students') sensitivity and creativity" by designing a curriculum that increases self-discipline and motivation, contributes to the student's positive self-image, provides an acceptable outlet for personal expression and helps to develop creative and intuitive thinking processes.

Traditional and classical education recognizes that the world's creative future depends upon the participation of aesthetically responsive individuals who have a life-long interest and involvement in the arts.
