The English Department at La Reina High School provides a strong, academic and traditional curriculum that reflects Catholic/Christian values. Students read the classics, write analytically and persuasively, learn the standards of written English and discover their personal voice.

Department-wide standards:
Essays should be written in blue or black ink.
Essays should be double-spaced and folded lengthwise.
The heading should include the student's name, the date, the course and the period taught.
In some cases, students will be asked to verify that the writing is their own. This includes, but is not limited to, the journalism assignment and any assignment that requires research.
