Fabled Faculty Member Inducted into Hall of Fame
Posted 06/07/2016 09:33AM

Our very own Betsy Potts, was inducted into the Ventura County Educators' Hall of Fame on June 4, 2016. The Ventura County Educators’ Hall of Fame honors extraordinary educators who have served in Ventura County education.

Words are inadequate to capture all that Betsy has contributed to La Reina’s students and the school during her more than 40 years of service. Highlights of her many roles include: faculty member, English department chairperson, and Alumnae Director.

Former La Reina Principal (2004-2010), Cecilia Coe, nominated Betsy for the award, describing her as the “consummate educator; a team player is who is not afraid of hard work.”   Cecilia shared, “As English department chairperson, she was instrumental in developing a highly regarded, multi-disciplined writing program that has been used throughout the school.”

Although now “retired”, Betsy continues to share her time and talents with the La Reina community, as a writer for La Reina Today magazine, as well as a mentor for other educators.   We are thrilled that our La Reina “legend” is now a member of the Hall of Fame.
