RoboRegents Win Prestigious Judges Award at VEX World Competition
Posted 04/26/2017 04:01PM
La Reina's RoboRegents VEX Robotics team, Deanna Rice ’17 and Kaitlin Kelleher ’20, has just returned from the VEX World Competition in Louisville KY, where they took home the prestigious Judges Award in their division. This was the Regents’ third time competing in the VEX World Competition.

RoboRegents were competing against 564 teams from all over the world broken into six divisions.

The Judges Award is given to a team deserving of recognition based upon a variety of factors including creative engineering solutions, robot design, and written documentation of the build process from conceptualization to the final product. Additionally, the judges consider community service projects promoting robotics and STEM, and the ability of the team to effectively communicate.

The Judges Award is a well-deserved conclusion to an incredible amount of dedication and perseverance by team captain and senior Deanna Rice. Throughout her years leading team 1034A, Deanna has guided her team to a total of 44 awards, including Tournament Champion, the Excellence Award, the Build Award, the Programming Skills Award, and the Sportsmanship Award.

Please join us in congratulating our RoboRegents on their victory.
