La Reina’s MATHLETES Team is open to all high school students with the purpose of stimulating our students’ interest and confidence in mathematics.  Students participate in the High School Math League as they compete in six contests each year with other schools in Ventura County, United States, and Canada.  Each contest consists of six questions from different areas of mathematics and offers our students the opportunity to compete for a high score within the school.  Our students persevere to compete for the highest scores in the league, while our school competes for the highest team score.

With over one million students participating and competing in these contests each year, La Reina’s Mathletes are honored and dignified to be one of the few all-female teams participating in an endeavor to compete in statewide or multistate league competition.  Working through the contest review problems, the mock competitions, and the actual competitions, our students feel that they are able to sharpen their mathematics skills and learn to think out of the box as they expand on the curriculum outside the classroom.  Other activities that our Mathletes enjoy as it brings them fun challenges are brain teasers, puzzles, math games, pi day, and online activities.
