Retreats are an integral part of the La Reina educational experience. There is a student-led retreat developed for each grade level. Student retreat facilitators are trained within the first two weeks of each year. Seventh and eighth grade retreats are held at local parishes during the school day. Freshmen go to a retreat center for the length of the school day, and sophomores participate in a service retreat in the inner city parishes of Los Angeles. The junior retreat is longer and more in-depth, reflecting a more mature personal and faith development. All retreats are spiritual preparation for the Senior Kairos Retreat that spans four days and is offered in the fall and the spring. Given by both teachers and students, this retreat is often referred to as a "life-changing experience."
