Music

Our music program is designed around the individual musician. Each year, our dedicated teachers select repertoire, write arrangements, and create performance opportunities with the goal of encouraging each student to take the next steps in her musical journey. Our classes teach not only the fundamentals of music, but also music history and theory, and both chamber and solo performance as well. With dozens of performance opportunities at La Reina every year, our students are encouraged to grow as musicians and artists.
Vocal artists can take two UC approved classes to hone their vocal skill and learn repertoire in many styles and languages. Students have the opportunity to participate in solo performance opportunities at recitals throughout the year. They also enjoy the opportunity to join one of three choirs and take part in one of our choral travel opportunities. Instrumentalists are encouraged to join our chamber music group where our teachers create new instrumental arrangements of popular pieces.
I will forever remember my growth with my voice coach and peers at La Reina and the incredible amount of knowledge I have acquired. My passion for the arts and music will thrive after I graduate because I have experienced true talent and compassion within this field of study and I am estatic to see what the future holds for me.
