9th and 10th Grade Enrichment Suite of 5 Courses
Writing Lab: This course will focus on the structural foundation needed to write strong, analytical paragraphs. Students entering la Reina for the ninth or tenth grades will have an opportunity to become familiar with the La Reina writing program.
Algebra 1 Review: This is a review course of Algebra I for students in grades 9-10, who have already completed Algebra I, but who need reinforcement of basic Algebra skills. This course is also a great review of algebraic concepts before taking Algebra II/Trigonometry.
French Language and Culture: Discover the fun of the French language. This course is designed as an introduction to the French language and culture. Students will learn about basic structures and pronunciation of French in the context of short stories, drama play, songs, games, and more. We will explore a variety of beginner topics including school life, food, family, and friends, in a fun and interactive way.

Spanish: This class is for students who have completed Spanish I. This course focuses on a review of key grammar structures, vocabulary, and pronunciation and will help with listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency.
Study and Skills: 10:45 a.m. – 11:35 a.m. This course will cover techniques for becoming a more successful student. Topics covered will include goal setting, time management, organizational skills, research gathering, and the Cornell note-taking method.
Graphic Design: 11:45 a.m. – 12:25 p.m. This course teaches the art of visual communication using words and images using the latest software. Students learn about advertisement and logo design, how to manipulate images, paint digitally, design geo-filters and manage social media.
