Mrs. Austin teaches history and social sciences with an eye for the creative. By incorporating unusual elements like debate, theater, and poetry into her classes along with reading, writing and critical thinking Mrs. Austen encourages students to dive deeply into not just the facts of historical events, but the surrounding social and societal circumstances. Her classes bring history to life.

Mrs. Austin graduated from California State University, Los Angeles, with a B.A. in French and earned her credential in secondary education from California State University, Northridge. She has spent her career in Catholic education, teaching at first at St. Paschal Baylon School, and at La Reina for over 20 years.
