Cafeteria Food Service Worker (Full time)

Job Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent

2. Experience in school food service or a related field is desirable.

3. Honest, loyal, dependable, willing to work creating and maintaining cooperative relationships with others.

4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.


Job Description

The Food Service Worker works under the direction of the supervisor who, in turn, reports to the Cafeteria Manager. The general duties and responsibilities of the Food Service Worker are to perform routine manual tasks in the preparation and serving of food and in cleaning and, maintaining food service areas. The CFSW will perform daily merchandising, replenishing all vending and retail fixtures.


Job Duties

1. Cooperate with the Cafeteria Manager to provide a positive and inviting dining experience for students, faculty, staff and parents.

2. Be responsible for the proper maintenance of merchandising for vending and retail fixtures.

3. Be responsible for food preparation by chopping, washing, cutting, assembling, sorting and mixing foodstuffs.

4. Be responsible for the serving of food during the serving period.

5. Be responsible for cleaning equipment, storage, and work areas during the total work day.

6. Assist with the loading and unloading of food supplies.

7. Be responsible for the proper storage of food.

8. Be responsible for washing dishes and utensils, including those from catered events.

9. Operate mechanical kitchen equipment safely.

10. Follow work schedules as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager.

11. Practice acceptable health and work habits as described by the county and state.

12. Participate in activities that will promote the school food service program.

13. Participate in staff/faculty functions as requested by the supervisor, Cafeteria Manager, Principal or President.

14. Participate in Professional Development Training.

15. Cafeteria Cashier Duties

16 .Perform other duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager and/or supervisor.

Job Requirements

1. DOJ fingerprinting & tuberculosis clearance.

2. Archdiocese of Los Angeles Virtus Training.

3. Ability to work and/or stand for 4.5 hours.

4. Stoop, bend, twist, kneel frequently.

5. Lift 45 pounds.

6. Must have reliable transportation.

7. Must work occasional nights and weekends.

8. Must have valid proof of US citizenship, residency or work visa.

9. Slip resistant shoes, proper hair protection, and clothing as required by the Cafeteria Manager or county health regulations.

Executive Assistant / HR Coordinator (Full time)


La Reina High School & Middle School is seeking an Executive Assistant and Human Resources Coordinator to support the Head of School. This is a 12-month, full-time position. La Reina High School & Middle School is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school for young women in grades 6-12 and is sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame.


Executive Assistant Duties

  • Manages Head of School’s schedule on and off campus
  • Prepares and maintains correspondence, memos, reports, and letters using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software
  • Maintains an efficient organizational system of documents and files
  • Reads and analyzes incoming memos, submissions, and reports to determine their significance and plan their distribution
  • Coordinates the Head of School Coffees and Faculty and Staff Anniversary Dinner
  • Issues keys to faculty and staff
  • Provides support to the Board of Trustees
  • Maintains address/contact information for all Board Members

Human Resources Coordinator Duties

  • Serves as the Human Resources Generalist for all functional areas including benefits, recruiting, employee relations, and legal compliance
  • Coordinates recruiting in a timely, cost-effective manner, and conducts new employee on-boarding
  • Maintains accurate databases and complete files for employment
  • Coordinates school benefits program
  • Oversees/issues, collects, and forwards personnel information forms
  • Completes verification of employment forms
  • Prepares Employment Agreements in collaboration with the Controller for faculty and staff
  • Prepares Employment Agreements in collaboration with the Athletic Director for coaching staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 years experience as Executive Assistant; 3 years experience in Human Resources
  • Experience in school environment a plus
  • Outstanding interpersonal and phone communication skills
  • Superior writing and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information with tact and discretion
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and be adaptive to a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Working proficiency in Blackbaud’s Education Edge and Raiser’s Edge; Microsoft Publisher or Adobe InDesign a plus. Willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed

Mock Trial Coordinator (Part time)

Mock Trial is designed to promote a greater understanding of, and appreciation for, the law, court procedures, and the American judicial system. The Mock Trial Coordinator will develop the skills of critical thinking, reading, speaking, and advocacy.


The Mock Trial Coordinator will supervise all students who are participating on the Mock Trial Team.


Essential Functions:

  • Assists in the selection process for the varsity, junior varsity, and middle school mock trial teams
  • Recruits and selects team members in the appropriate categories, so that a full team is represented at competitions
  • Facilitates students understanding of witness statements and the legal system in order to present both the plaintiff and defense sides in a court of law
  • Schedules activities for the purpose of making necessary arrangements for practices and competition
  • Schedules, organizes, promotes, and attends mock trial rehearsals and competitions, as required
  • Maintains positive relationships with local judges, attorneys and other school coaches to build a mock trial culture
  • Maintains a variety of documents including attendance records and overnight field trip paperwork
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient functioning of the mock trial program (selects, orders, and obtains materials needed for practice and preparation
  • Coordinates with Ventura County representatives
  • Follows the rules and regulations for mock trial competition and eligibility
  • Maintains clear and timely communication with parents

Supervises Attorney Coaches:

  • Attorney coaches will assist students in interpreting federal, state and local laws, and case law related to the mock Trial handbook and competition
  • Attorney coaches assist students to properly prepare opening statements, closing statements, and rebuttals
  • Attorney coaches will assist students with the rules of evidence, rules of competition, rules of conduct for the mock trial

Training & Experience:

  • Credentialed high school staff person preferred.
  • Experience working with students, parents and community members

Mock Trial is a year-long UC-approved course with structured classes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. The coordinator will teach during these times and will be responsible to host and participate in practices and tournaments outside this time frame.
