Regent Performers & Regent Players

Being a part of Regent Performers and Regent Players is like being a member of a family.  These friendships often last long after graduation.  We also offer opportunities to participate in the High School Comedy Sportz League and the International Thespian Society. In addition to acting, singing and dancing, Regent Performers and Regent Players learn about costuming, technical theatre and makeup.  Each student has full responsibility for her part, is expected to make rehearsals, and has a chance to shine, no matter the size of her role.  The program is designed to encourage individuality, self-discovery, and self-discipline.

Of equal importance are the behind-the-scenes masters of Technical Production and Stage Management, commonly known at La Reina as “Techies.”  Every actor knows that, without these crucial team members, his or her performance would never make it to the stage.  From the construction of sets and the gathering of props, to the final sound check and the dimming of the house lights on opening night, these girls-in-black have an important role in the productions.  They are a special subset of the Regent Performers and Regent Players, and spend their time learning all aspects of stage craft:  sets, lights, sound, property management, stage management, house management and hospitality.
