Christine Yangson Named Head Volleyball Coach

Following a comprehensive search process, Christine Yangson has been appointed to the position of Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at La Reina. Coach Yangson's extensive resume includes both head and assistant coaching roles at the club and high school levels since 2006: Santa Monica Beach Club (2006-2010), Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach Campbell Hall (2012-2019), Assistant Volleyball Coach Sports Academy Volleyball Club ( 2016-2018), Head Volleyball Coach Sports Academy Volleyball Club (2018 -present).

Christine was a standout student athlete in both track and volleyball at Chaminade College Preparatory. She continued on to play volleyball at Moorpark College, helping the Raiders earn back-to-back conference championships. Additionally, Yangson holds a license in nursing and worked as a charge nurse and hospice nurse prior to pursuing her passion in the field of Sports Performance.

Yangson is also an accomplished Sports Performance Coach and has been working in that field at the Sports Academy since 2018. She holds several certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and coaches several performance classes at the Sports Academy.

La Reina Athletic Director, Dan Peeters remarked, “I am thrilled to have Christine lead our volleyball program. Yangson’s volleyball coaching acumen, expertise in athletic performance, and experience in mentoring young women make her the ideal coach to help La Reina girls reach their potential."
