Beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, La Reina will be awarding activity credits for students in Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra. Rehearsal, private lesson, and performance hours will all be eligible for activity credit hours. In addition to the usual benefits of activity credits, La Reina CVYO credits may be used toward the La Reina VPA graduation distinction.

CVYO is Ventura County's premiere instrumental youth music program. With multiple groups, they offer orchestral music performance opportunities for intermediate and advanced student musicians. Entrance into CVYO is by audition and standard tuition and fees apply.

In addition to the Activity credit awards, this partnership with CVYO will offer opportunities for La Reina students to participate in the CVYO Student Ambassador Program. CVYO Student Ambassadors perform in outreach programs throughout the Conejo Valley and volunteer to help at CVYO events.

Students who wish to participate in this partner program, should contact CVYO to schedule an audition. Registration is now open.

La Reina CVYO students must contact Mrs. Vass to officially enroll in the La Reina Partner program. Players are required to track hours for lessons, rehearsals, ambassador work, and performances, and submit them to Mrs Vass the final week of each semester to receive proper credit.

La Reina will still be offering our Chamber Music program for small ensemble play. The CVYO partnership will be a wonderful compliment to the work we are already doing in this area.
