Student Actors Adapt

In any other year, the drama and music department at La Reina High School would have been in the midst of transforming the school gymnasium for the winter musical.  But amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the drama department took creativity to new heights, installing an outdoor stage in La Reina’s parking lot!

The Regent Performers presented a unique, live, outdoor socially distanced performance of The Marvelous Wonderettes, the weekend of January 22 - 24.The show ran for one hour and was held outdoors with audience seating in personal vehicles only. Sound was be available through the audiences’ car radio.

This amazing show kept the audience smiling in a must-take trip down memory lane!  A smash Off-Broadway hit transformed the parking lot to the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where we met four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts!
